We’re excited to share that ISPA will be holding a Regional Face to Face Training event in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from March 12th to March 16th. We will be joined by experts in the field and learn from first-hand experience implementing ISPA tools in Indonesia, Peru, Tanzania, among others. Participants will join from the host country Indonesia, as well as from Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Mongolia, urepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
Asian and Pacific countries have committed to improve and scale-up their social protection systems and programs as endorsed by the ASEAN Declaration on Strengthening Social Protection and the Sustainable Development Goals. In recent years, many countries have made impressive efforts to reform their social protection systems. Several countries have introduced remarkable innovations in the past two decades and social protection delivery systems has also received significant investment across the region, facilitated by innovative use of technology in areas such as biometric identification and beneficiary verification, direct benefit transfers and mobile banking.
With improvements and scale-up, there are also new challenges both in terms of policy design and in strengthening delivery systems to achieve better outcomes. Here, the ISPA tool framework can support in analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of social protection systems in the region.
In this training event hope to share some of the best practices on social protection systems, programs and delivery mechanisms at different developmental levels and positively influence perceptions of governments in both regions. The country case studies will enable government representatives to better understand the emerging lessons of innovation in the design and delivery of and help them to understand how they can get better diagnostics of social protection systems.
We are working hard to make this event a great learning experience and will hopefully be the first of many! Stay tuned on more information on live-streamed sessions and new learning materials!
